If not us, then who?

If not us, then who?

Congratulations to this year’s Top Diversity Leaders in Healthcare! Your outstanding leadership and tireless efforts have inspired change that will have a lasting, positive impact on your organizations, communities and the world. Yours is a legacy that has and will touch the lives of so many for years to come.

Looking back across the hundreds of leaders who have been honored since this program began, it is heartening to see the prevalence of words like “diversity and inclusion,” “anti-racism” and “health equity” being used to describe the accomplishments of honorees. The shift in purpose and intentions to truly drive change is palpable.

Throughout more than a decade of partnering with Modern Healthcare on the Top Women and Top Diversity Leaders programs, support for diversity has moved into impactful, tangible actions and practices focused on inclusion. Leaders and organizations are encouraging people to show up as their authentic selves and realizing the value diversity of thought has on the sustainability of successful outcomes.

As we reflect on the achievements of this year’s honorees, we are reminded of John Lewis’ call for action, “If not us, then who? If not now, then when?”

There is no amount of gratitude that encompasses all that these honorees have experienced and overcome. The only fitting tribute comes in the form of our own commitment to diversity and inclusion to ensure the momentum they created endures.

At Furst Group and NuBrick Partners, we do this through client partnerships that support all aspects of talent management—attracting, retaining and developing individuals to accelerate team performance. This commitment has been further reinforced through our DEI Institute, which is dedicated to developing resources, processes, and measurable, sustainable goals to support diversity, equity and inclusion for our teams, clients and communities.

Education and accountability are critical for building strong, diverse boards and executive leadership teams. For us, this means continuing to push our clients to think beyond traditional career pathways and calling out stringent requirements that drive homogeny while also helping them design inclusive, forward-focused roles that create opportunity, improve access and strengthen equity.

Join us in honoring the 2022 Top Diversity Leaders in Healthcare with your continued commitment.
