The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has launched a training program targeted to promote entrepreneurship and ensure safe and compliant operations of food-related businesses in Laguna.
Under the Bagong Negosyante Program, a total of 87 micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in the province joined a series of trainings for licensing, registration, and good manufacturing practices at the National University Laguna Campus in Calamba on September 4–5.
The MSMEs also learned how to navigate FDA regulatory requirements and ensure the production of safe and high-quality food products.
The participants came from the cities of Calamba, San Pablo, Sta. Rosa, Binan, Cabuyao, and the municipalities of Bay, Calauan, Liliw, Los Banos, Lumban, Nagcarlan, Pagsanjan, Pila, and Rizal.
The FDA said the Bagong Negosyante Program represents a significant initiative aimed at promoting entrepreneurship and ensuring the safe and compliant operation of food-related businesses in the MSME sector in the province.
The program is part of the agency’s five-point agenda for the FDA Medium-Term Plan (2023-2026), it added. —VBL, GMA Integrated News
