Celebrity Cruises, famous for their next-generation ships, sails into Web3 with the release of their first NFT collection. Their debut collection is in partnership with Rubem Robierb who is already a longstanding artist in the cruise line.

Celebrity Cruises Releases First NFT Collection: Peacemakers Sunset NFTs

The Peacemakers Sunset NFT collection by Celebrity Cruises is an edition of five motion art pieces. One of which is currently on display at the Cube Art Fair in Time Square from May 18 – 22.

Furthermore, the collection complements Robierb’s powerful Peacemakers sculpture featured on Celebrity’s brand new ship called Celebrity Beyond. Additionally, a variation of these NFTs called “Peacemakers, Blue Sky” is onboard Celebrity Beyond, making it the very first NFT at Sea.

For perks and benefits, its holders will receive two money-can’t-buy invitations. These will give them access to Celebrity Beyond’s exclusive naming ceremony and sailing in Fort Lauderdale.

Robierb, who designed the NFTs, explains the meaning behind the collection: “Peacemakers represent two interlaced doves, a tribute to the peacemakers of the world. The NFTs bring to life the idea that peace is a collaborative act that can never be taken for granted.”

When Can I Get Celebrity Cruises NFTs?

The NFTs will be available for purchase on June 1 on OpenSea. Proceeds from the sales will go to the artist.

Lastly, at 5 p.m. ET on July 1, each owner of a Peacemakers Sunset NFT will receive the invitations and a roundtrip ticket for two to join the ship’s naming ceremony and sailing on November 4-6.

NFTs in the Cruise and Yacht Industry

The foray of Celebrity Cruises into making NFTs isn’t the first one in the naval and cruise industry. In fact, the Norwegian Cruise Line also launched their NFT collection last March. Additionally, the first Superyacht ever sold for $12M is an NFT! Surely, the interests in boats in the Web3 doesn’t end with the famous Bored Ape Yacht Club Project!
