£20m Arsenal & West Ham target, 40-cap attacker: 5 Norwich stars set for PL returns this summer

Like clockwork, Norwich City were relegated from the Premier League just one year after returning to the top-flight from the Championship, with the Canaries finishing rock bottom of the standings.

It is the second time in three years that Norwich have been promoted to the Premier League only to go straight back down in 20th-place, and this summer could finally see some of the club’s most highly-rated players finally leave the Norfolk side.

With Dean Smith having a big task ahead of him this summer, Norwich do have some players in their squad who could be ready for an immediate return to the Premier League this summer, and here are just five names who could win big-money moves in the coming months.

Max Aarons

Arguably the most obvious name on this list, Max Aarons has been linked with a move to a big Premier League side for what feels like forever, and this summer must surely see the right-back finally depart Carrow Road for good.

7 Pre-Arranged Summer Transfers (2022)

Reports indicate that Arsenal and West Ham are the favourites to land Aarons, who Norwich value at £20m, a reasonable fee given the defender’s age and incredible amount of playing experience the 22-year-old already has in his short career.

With Aarons unlikely to want to play Championship football for yet another season, the defender could easily push for a move this summer, and with two clubs with European football interested in the youngster, Norwich could be more tempted than ever to sell.

Andrew Omobamidele

At 6’2” and just 19-years-old, Andrew Omobamidele is quite the specimen of a player, with the Republic of Ireland international impressing in his handful of Premier League appearances last season, one of which included the defender scoring one of the few Norwich goals not bagged by Teemu Pukki.

Whilst a full year in the Championship could be incredible for Omobamidele’s development, the defender is more than capable of returning to the Premier League this summer, with any club in need of centre-back cover a strong candidate to sign the teenage prospect this summer.

Christos Tzolis

The hype surrounding Christos Tzolis when the record-breaking Greek youngster scored for Norwich last summer was incredible. Yet the move would unfold to be as predictable as they come, as the winger was a complete flop for the Canaries.

Now linked with a European move, Tzolis could realistically return to the Premier League if Norwich grants the Greek international a move this summer, with the winger more than capable of developing at a club where everything suits the 20-year-old attacker.

Milot Rashica

Another huge-name signing last summer, Milot Rashica reportedly rejected moves to the likes of West Ham to join Norwich, yet like Tzolis, it was somewhat unsurprising that the 40-cap Kosovo international failed to impress at Carrow Road.

Given his reputation from his Bundesliga years and for the national team, it wouldn’t be a surprise if Rashica departed Norwich this summer for a top-tier side, and for any Premier League clubs, the Albanian-born attacker could be a great signing given his age and his previous records for the likes of Vitesse and Werder Bremen.

Adam Idah

A player who is in a similar boat as Omobamidele, Adam Idah has shown some serious promise over the years but has never really been given a chance to shine on the main stage, and this summer, the Ireland international must be looking for a way out of Norwich.

The 21-year-old is regarded by many as Norwich’s most promising academy graduate, and if a Premier League club becomes interested in Idah, the striker must do everything in his power to push for a move this summer, something Norwich might be comfortable doing in the coming weeks.
