2023: Fintiri Unveils Female Deputy Governorship Candidate As Running Mate In Adamawa
The first female deputy governorship candidate in the Northeastern region of Nigeria, Professor Kaletapwa George Farauta has been unveiled by Governor Umar Finitiri in Yola.
The unveiling ceremony which drew thousands of women and women groups from works of life took place at the government house today, Wednesday.
Fintiri said the choice of Prof Farauta was a result of a painstaking search and the consent of the serving deputy governor, Chief Crowther Seth.
Stressing that “I have worked with her as a visitor of Adamawa State University, tested her and she has proven to be a trusted person just like the deputy governor, Chief Crowther Seth.”
The Governor added that the present Deputy Governor still remain loyal and the deputy governor till the end of his four years tenure.
He added that the successes his administration has recorded in the last three years were as a result of the unflinching support of Chief Crowther Seth.
In his welcome address, the chairman of the party, Barr. AT Shehu while presenting Prof Kaletapwa Farauta as running mate to Governor Umuru Fintiri said, the choice was anointed by the sitting deputy governor, Chief Crowther Seth and the party.
Adding that besides her anointing as the deputy governorship candidate, Prof Kaletapwa Farauta has proven to be a great loyalist who can be relied on anytime.
“She served very well when she was appointed executive Chairman of Adamawa state Universal Basic Education thereafter as commissioner of Education before being appointed as the Vice Chancellor of Adamawa state University in a keenly contested interview.”
In his goodwill message, the chairman governing council of Adamawa State University, Hon. Auwal Tukur said the choice of Prof. Farauta is the best thing that is happening in PDP adding that the people of Adamawa state will forever appreciate this choice.
The Deputy Governorship Candidate, Professor Kelatapwa Farauta said “I remain very grateful for my choice, it is for me alone but for the entire womenfolk.
“l will do my best to serve the state for the overall development of our dear state.”
